The Role
We’re hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to join our fast-growing R&D team north of Copenhagen. This is a rare opportunity to be part of building a product and a company from the ground up. You’ll be joining a core team shaping the future of defense-grade technologies, including non-lethal lighting systems and night vision integration. This role demands both strong embedded skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Job Scope
Develop high-performance embedded software (C/C++) on STM32 (ARM Cortex-M)
Own firmware development and work hands-on with microcontrollers, real-time systems, and peripherals
Work in a hybrid lab/office setup with test systems and hardware integrations
Collaborate across teams in Denmark and Finland—reporting directly to the Head of Development
Drive DevOps thinking and improve release practices
Influence system design and future architectural decisions
Ideal Candidate
5+ years of hands-on embedded development (C/C++)
Experience with STM32 microcontrollers and tools (STM32Cube, Keil, IAR)
Solid background in electronics, embedded architecture, and low-level debugging
Comfortable working with schematics, oscilloscopes, and firmware optimization
Familiarity with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS or equivalent)
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar
Entrepreneurial mindset – eager to build something meaningful from scratch
Open to working in a hybrid setup (Tampere office 3 days/week)
Motivated to work with the defense sector and critical technologies
Bonus Qualifications
Cybersecurity experience in embedded systems
Experience with ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or other safety-critical standards
Understanding of software release practices and DevOps in embedded contexts
Background in medtech, hearing aids, telecom, or defense is a plus
